    GCC leaders and Trump discuss regional stability in Riyadh

    On behalf of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, led the United Arab Emirates (UAE) delegation to the Gulf-US Summit held on Wednesday in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The summit brought together leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and U.S. President Donald Trump to strengthen strategic relations and advance coordination on key regional and international matters.

    The discussions centered on security, political collaboration, and emerging opportunities across economic and technological sectors. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed conveyed appreciation to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for hosting the summit. He noted that the event serves as a platform to deepen historical ties and shared strategic interests between the GCC member states and the United States. During the meeting, the Crown Prince underscored the significance of the strategic partnership, emphasizing the role of collective cooperation in advancing peace, economic development, and regional stability.

    He expressed confidence that the summit would bolster joint efforts to address ongoing challenges through coordinated action and mutual support. The UAE delegation highlighted the role of the United States in regional peace building, citing recent mediation efforts by the Trump administration, including a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan. Sheikh Khaled affirmed the UAE’s commitment to dialogue and diplomacy as essential mechanisms for resolving disputes and enhancing cooperation across South Asia and the broader region.

    Sheikh Khaled also acknowledged recent diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran, expressing optimism about potential de-escalation and the promotion of long-term regional stability. He reiterated the UAE’s support for peaceful initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and fostering development. Addressing the ongoing situation in Gaza, the Crown Prince reaffirmed the UAE’s position on the importance of establishing a sustainable ceasefire, delivering humanitarian aid, and achieving a lasting resolution.

    He emphasized the need for a two-state solution based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of an independent Palestinian state. In his concluding remarks, Sheikh Khaled highlighted the expanding scope of GCC-US cooperation, noting progress in sectors such as artificial intelligence, space exploration, and peaceful nuclear energy.
